KULTURNI PRAZNIK V GALERIJI 14
Po uspešni novembrski fotografski razstavi Deana Dubokoviča, II:II:II, sedaj izbor del iz razstave predstavljamo še v Galeriji 14.Vljudno vabljeni, da se nam pridružite na predvečer kulturnega praznika, v torek 07. februarja 2012 ob 19.00uri v Galeriji 14, Prešernova 14 na Bledu.
O razstavi:
Prst na sprožilcu, iskanje trenutka, ko je motiv možen, nestrpno pričakovanje, lovljenje primerne svetlobe in obvladovanje kompozicije. Fotografirati (beseda izhaja iz grških besed φωτος: photos - svetloba in γραφις: graphis - pisalo ali γρφη: graphê - risanje s svetlobo) pomeni pisati s pomočjo svetlobe in le redki in vztrajni resnično poznajo igro svetlobe in sence. Dean Dubokovič je zagotovo fotograf, ki mu igra svetlobe in sence pomeni izziv in možnost ideje, da se v svoji specifičnosti realizira na papirju ali dandanes tudi v digitalnem zapisu. S tem ideja postane vidna, otipljiva, čutna in del nas gledalcev.
Z »magičnostjo fotoaparata« se je Dean Dubokovič prvič srečal, ko ga je prijel v roke kot majhen deček na Hvaru. Spremljal ga je na služenju vojaškega roka v nekdanji Jugoslaviji, med katerim so mu zaupali mesto dežurnega fotografa. Potem se je vrnil v Ljubljano, kjer se je zaljubil v modo in … ljudi. Lepe in manj lepe, nenavadne, zvezdniške, drzne, nekonvencionalne, ekspresivne. Dean Dubokovič, eden izmed najpomembnejših slovenskih fotografov zadnjih dvajsetih let, s svojimi podobami ni krojil le slovenske modne scene, pač pa je s svojimi portreti soustvarjal tudi brstečo domačo celebrites kulturo. V dveh desetletjih je njegov objektiv ulovil nešteto znanih in slavnih, mirno lahko celo trdimo, da ni zvezde, katere fotografije ne bi našli v Deanovem bogatem arhivu. Estradniki, politiki, modeli in oblikovalci, poeti in razvpiti gospodarstveniki, najlepše in najuspešnejše Slovenke … prav vsi razkrivajo duh časa in so nepogrešljive priče sodobne slovenske pop kulture. Dubokoviča ustvarjalna svoboda vodi od na videz preprostih, a potentnih trenutkov, do visoko stiliziranih posnetkov, na katerih glavno vlogo, kot pravi avtor sam, igrajo vedno in samo ljudje.
Photographer Dean Dubokovič, designer Andrej Troha and gallerist Janez Černe, eleven years after the exhibition, which opened the doors of the recognized Gallery Luwigana, once again joined forces. This time through the photographers lens that reveals the richness of his images of the past two decades.
Cross-section of Deans rich photographic oeuvre can be seen from 11th to 25th November at the retrospective sales exhibition at the Gallery Luwigana on Gornji trg 19, Ljubljana. Until 11th December an virtual exhibition of Deans works can be seen at the new online virtual gallery of Studio Černe, www.galerijacerne.si, which is a new age application that opens new experiences to visiting art exhibitions.
Finger on the trigger, searching for the right moment, anxious expectations, catching the light and awaiting a suitable composition… Photography (the word derives from the Greek words φωτος: photos - light and γραφις: Graphis - pen or γρφη: graph - drawing with light) means to write with the help of light and very few and persistent really master the play of light and shadow. Dean Dubokovič is definitely a photographer who in this game of light and shadow finds his challenge and the possibility of realizing his specificity on paper or nowadays also in digital format. Through this process his ideas becomes visible, sensual and a part of us viewers.
Dean Dubokovič encountered the "magic of the camera" when he first picked it up as a little boy on the island of Hvar. Later the camera accompanied him during his military service in former Yugoslavia, during which he was entrusted with the duty of the photographer. Then he returned to Ljubljana, where he fell in love with fashion and ... people. Beautiful and less beautiful, strange, celebrities, bold, unconventional, expressive… Dean Dubokovič, one of the most important Slovenian photographers in the last twenty years, who with his images co-created not only the Slovenian fashion scene but also with his portraits created the national celebrities culture. In two decades, his lens captured countless celebrities, we can easily say that there is no star which photo you would not find in Deans rich archive. Celebrities, politicians, models and designers, poets and notorious businessmen, the most beautiful and most successful Slovenes ... they all reveal the spirit of time and are indispensable witnesses of the contemporary Slovenian pop culture. The author’s creative freedom leads from the seemingly simple, yet potent moments of highly stylized imagery, in which the main role, as the author himself says, are always played by people.
